Rapyd Is Pleased to Announce the Winners of Our Grand Prix Hackathon.
Mountain View, CA. Held from Jun 3 – Jul 8, 2021, the hackathon welcomed over 1000 international participants with an incredible range of technical and business expertise. There were many creative applications of Rapyd’s fintech as a service APIs.
“I was blown away with the innovation and imagination that teams displayed,” said Drew Harris, Rapyd’s Sr. Manager of Developer Relations. Winning ideas included solutions from a conversational user experience designed for Telegram to an end-to-end digital finance management platform for companies to a swipeable button for instant “RapydPay” wallet transactions.
Now after reviewing submissions from teams around the globe, the judges have spoken. Here are the 12 winners of Rapyd’s first Fintech Grand Prix Hackathon.
Rapyd Fintech Grand Prix Prizes and Winners
Prizes included a Porsche Taycan or $125,000 in cash, an F1 Experience in Abu Dhabi, dinner with the Rapyd team and other winners, Playstation 5 + F1 2020 Game, mentorship from the Rapyd Venture Team, and the opportunity to bring the team’s fintech ideas to life.

Creating Winning Fintech Solutions
The overall winning team, Rapyd G-Force, made up of Ryan May and Betsy Berger, developed an innovative no-code solution that allows users to build and automate payments inside of Google Suite and connect these to Rapyd Collect for an easier and faster checkout. Their solution leveraged a combination of the Rapyd Collect API’s, Google Apps Script, PHP, and a custom hosted checkout page to stitch together a seamless customer experience.
The talent exhibited by the hundreds of participants shows that Rapyd is growing a vibrant fintech developer community. The dozens of submitted projects demonstrate how it is easy to get up and running with Rapyd and build seamlessly integrating, local commerce experiences.
